Lahore: The Coca-Cola establishment has donated $200,000 to Lahore Businessmen Association for help to recover Disabled (Labard) Vocational Training Center. Rizwan Ullah Khan, who is Country Manager for Pakistan and Afghanistan of the Coca-Cola Export Corporation, gave the cheque to the Labard President, Pervez Malik at a rite held here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Naghmana Javed, Laila Nusratuddin, Ahmad Shafiq, Imtiaz Pervez, Arshad Nasir and LCCI former President, Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman, Labard Senior Vice President Mian Nusratuddin, Joint Secretary Madiha Aijaz, Nighat Yawar Ali were also present on the occasion. Rizwan Ullah Khan speaking on the occasion said that Coca-Cola would continue to work with the Labard in its attempt to inform vocational training to the disabled persons and funding to Labard is a prolongation of Coca Cola’s plans in Pakistan to hold up the cause of education. The grant will allow Labard to put up key vocational education and training labs such as mechanical, IT, refrigeration, stitching and other trade labs and will used for the stipulation of marketing and media management of the project. Rizwan Ullah Khan said, "At the Coca-Cola Company, we recognize that we cannot have a healthy and growing business unless the communities we serve are healthy and sustainable. He said, "We are committed to improving the quality of life in the communities where we do business and have realigned our community investment priorities to be reflective of and responsive to the global and local nature of our business". We are committed towards Labard's initiative and will work hands-on with the management to complete this project". In his, address the labard president, Pervaiz Malik gratitude Coca Cola Export Corporation for its contribution. He said that the donation would extend the circle of Labard services, more disabled people could be able to get education of different skills, and all matters are clear, all funds utilized for only genuine and deserving disabled people. He said that Labard is not only establishing sites in a variety parts of the City for the registration of disabled persons but also center of attention is on edifice confidence in all such people who are suffering due to some disability so that they could be capable to face all challenges courageously. He told Rizwan Ullah Khan that the Labard Qarz-e-Hasna scheme is producing heartening fallouts and a large number of disabled personnel’s are running their small businesses successfully. The Labard President told that the Lahore Businessmen Association for Disabled persons has prolonged training to thousands of disabled persons so far and it has determined to extend the scope of these trainings in coming days.
